What is Runwise and how does it work?

Runwise is like a smart thermostat for an entire building. Runwise’s smart heating controls tells a heating system when to turn on and off by using data from an indoor temperature sensor network (installed in-units) collectively with outdoor temperatures and forecasted weather patterns to save money and make the building more comfortable.

How does Runwise adapt to different conditions?

Runwise smart heating control learns how a given building retains heat in various temperature conditions, as well as what conditions drive complaints in a given building. This “learning” is reflected in how the Runwise algorithm adapts to become more efficient and improve from the first heating season to the next.

Is Runwise compatible with all buildings?

Runwise smart heating controls are compatible with most centrally heated buildings, regardless of their age or size.

How do I know if my building qualifies?

To qualify for a Runwise system, the building must be centrally heated using either a steam or hydronic heating system, have an offline boiler control or Building Management System (BMS), and be larger than 20,000 square feet.

How effective is Runwise?

The program has been implemented in over 7,500 buildings, achieving an average energy use reduction of 21% annually.

How will Runwise affect our building management staff’s workload?

Runwise automates and simplifies heating management, reducing staff workload. Once temperature settings are configured, the system self-manages. Adjustments are a click away in its mobile or desktop app. The system also sends notifications about potential heating issues for early resolution by building management staff to prevent tenant complaints.
