WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 28, 2023) – Washington Gas is proud to announce that it has again been recognized by ENERGY STAR for its commitment to energy efficiency. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) have selected the company as the winner of the 2023 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year award for Energy Efficiency Program Delivery.
Washington Gas has been an ENERGY STAR partner since 2015 and received the Partner of the Year Award in 2022 and the Excellence in Promotion Award in 2018 and 2020. Today’s honor recognizes the company for the fourth time, highlighting exemplary commitment and consistent leadership. Successfully leveraging ENERGY STAR to help Maryland customers save over two million therms (a measure of heat energy) in 2022 was a significant factor in this award achievement.
