Excellence in ENERGY STAR Marketing award marks company’s fifth recognition since 2015.

WASHINGTON, D.C. (March 26, 2024) – Washington Gas is proud to announce that it has again been recognized by the ENERGY STAR program for its commitment to promoting energy efficiency. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has selected the company as the winner of the 2024 ENERGY STAR Award for Excellence in ENERGY STAR Marketing. 

Washington Gas has been an ENERGY STAR partner since 2015. It received the Excellence in Promotion Award in 2018 and 2020 and the Partner of the Year Award in 2022 and 2023. Today’s honor recognizes the company’s exemplary commitment and consistent leadership in promoting ENERGY STAR. In the past year, Washington Gas leveraged the ENERGY STAR brand to help Maryland and Virginia customers upgrade to ENERGY STAR certified products in new and existing homes and issued more than 11,000 rebates, playing a significant role in this award achievement.

The ENERGY STAR program recognizes businesses and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to protecting the environment through energy conservation achievements. Award winners lead their industries in the production, sale, and adoption of energy-efficient products, homes, buildings, services, and strategies that are essential in addressing the climate crisis and protecting public health.
