Maryland Energy Efficiency Program Update:

The Washington Gas EmPOWER Maryland programs will end on December 31, 2026. Please submit applications and required documentation on behalf of your customers immediately.

These changes affect the Washington Gas Business Energy Solutions and Home Energy Savings programs.

Deadlines:

• For your customers to be eligible for rebates and incentives, your business must act as quickly as possible.
• Residential applications must be submitted by December 1, 2026. No applications will be accepted after this time.
• Commercial applications must be submitted by November 1, 2026. No applications will be accepted after this time.
• Commercial pre-approvals must be issued by December 31, 2026. No pre-approvals will be issued after this time.
• Installation of all eligible measures must be completed, and all required documentation must be received before December 31, 2027.

Review and Payments:

• Insufficient or incorrect application information can lead to processing delays which may jeopardize payment.
• Submit applications as quickly as possible to allow sufficient time for review, approval, and payment processing.

Virigina Service Providers: Energy efficiency programs in Virginia are not impacted by these changes. Programs will continue offering incentives and rebates through The Virginia Conservation and Ratemaking Efficiency (CARE) Plan.

Changes to EmPOWER Maryland programs are the result of Maryland House Bill 1532.
